Roy Wilson of Amalek ETTs sadly passed away on Friday, 31st July following a stroke. He was 85. Roy leaves his wife Mary, son and daughter-in-law and two grandsons.

Roy and Mary were devoted to improving the ETT breed and had great success in the show ring. Their first bitch, Joruben a Touch of Class, was a champion at 13 months. Together they made up ten champions in the UK and many abroad including the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Germany and Holland. There are many other Amalek champions shown and made up by their owners

Roy and Mary also achieved Best of Breed at Crufts six times, taking Group 4 with Amalek i got Rhythm. Three successes were with the well-known Amalek You Has Jazz in three consecutive years alongside many group places.

Both Roy and Mary were very careful only to breed from sound stock. Before breeding, both males and females were health-checked, including patella checks under a general anaesthetic.

Roy also published a book ‘ETTs and All About Them’ which has been sold world-wide, even Russia.

We have lost a very clever and conscientious breeder. We send commiserations to Roy’s family.
